Club Overview

Mission Statement

The purpose of AWEMOMS is to provide information, friendship and support to mothers dealing with the unique situation of parenting multiples. This is done through the exchange of information from our members, other clubs, educators and specialists in various fields.

General Meetings

We meet once a month for fellowship and to discuss various topics of interest concerning multiple birth children. Our club meeting is held the 1st Thursday of each month. Meetings start at 7:00pm. We currently meet at Peace Presbyterian Church located at 9145 Franklin Blvd. in Elk Grove. Membership is not required to attend.

Support

AWEMOMs provides support services to its members and numerous prospective members to help them with their journey through the incredible world of multiples. Some of the services we offer are meals for moms, a mentor program, a bi-annual clothing and equipment sale, a Welcome Packet filled with multiples birth-related information, and local and national resources; and an e-mail group (using Yahoo) where members with email access can post questions and receive advice and support.

Newsletter

Our clubs monthly newsletter, AWESOME NEWS, is a great resource for club members. It features club news and information concerning children and adult activities throughout the year.  The newsletter also offers information about parenting multiples, a recipe and craft swap, and an Up Close and Personal section about club members. We offer prospective members a 3 month trial subscription free of charge.

Playgroups

A weekly play date is organized by our Activity Coordinator. We currently meet on Wednesdays at 10 am. The location varies so be sure to check our Calendar of Events.

Activities

Our club participates in several activities throughout the course of the year. From Installation Dinner, Annual Holiday Party, and Couples Social (for the adults) to the Pumpkin Patch outing and Easter Egg Hunt (for the kids), to a monthly Moms Night Out...there seems to always be something going on! Other activities include information booths at community events, and clothing and equipment sales to name a few.

Library

The Club maintains a library with many informative resources to aid in your journey of raising multiples. The books range from baby names, parenting, and feeding, to videos on parenting and learning. This is an excellent program to take advantage of.

Fundraising

AWEMoMs hold a few fundraising programs throughout the year. In the Fall and Spring we have a Clothing and Equipment Sale. We have also raised funds by selling Entertainment Books and Poinsettias. All profits go back to the club and are used toward our continuously growing Philanthropy Program.

Philanthropy

AWEMOMS believes it is important to help others in need. During the holidays, we participate in our local Adopt-A-Family program, where we adopt a family in need and provide them with gifts from their wish list. We also organize a Toy Drive to support children
